Make sure you're cyber safe

Ofcom report comes amid fears over protection of children on social media. 

Social media platforms have been urged to take more responsibility for the "horrific amount of disturbing content" children are able to access online. 

In this months edition, we're raising awarness of tv licence and fake tax phishing scams online, cold-call pension scams and how to turn off your location on Snapchat. 

General advice on how domestic abuse is committed through technology with tips for support and help that is available. 

The report highlights the positives and negatives of social media with young people's well-being, identity, lifestyle, relationships, and fear of missing out

This month the Scam Update looks at data breaches from Butlin's and Superdrug. Phone Scams and warnings from the DVLA and Financial Conduct Authority are included. 

This months Scam Update looks at numerous text and email scams as well as a password sextortion scam and HMRC phone scams. 

The warning comes after research by the charity suggested 25% of children had been contacted online by strangers.
